  1. Personally i got rid of the wider track suspension. It just sat really stupid for camber to bring the original geometry back you need: MK2 : Control arms Inner tie rods Inner CV shafts Match you ball joint to knuckle you are using. If you want to keep it simple use MK2 knuckle. If you want the bigger brakes use MK3 Jetta. They bolt up the same way on the shock absorber. You can use and works fine MK2 shocks, but use like posted above MK3 vr6 coil springs and newer style upper mounts. If you want 288mm brakes http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?493581
  2. Completed my mk2 vr6 swap recently, never touched any of the mounts and no issues with clearance. Wonder what all the fuss is about seriously. Used Jetta MK3 k-frame and passat vr6 motor mounts (all 3)

why not swap for Passat B3/B4 cluster, direct bolt on, more common and cheaper too:)
  4. I thought i would write this thread because i had a hard time finding all the info needed in one spot to accomplish this swap. There is no speculations in this post (By me anyways). I used and works AWESOME with NO issues -MK2 inner cv shafts with vr6 outers -Passat knuckles, spindles and calipers -MK2 control arms with Passat ball joints fitted (took minor material off the 2 outer holes from control arm) still plenty of meterial for the ball joint to bite in to. -Stock rotors and pads for 1997 Passat vr6. -MK2 shocks with H&R MK3 Jetta vr6 sport springs (Used upgraded strut mounts wit
  5. The MK2 is a hell of a lot lighter, even fully loaded it does not have as much wiring for creature comfort as the mk3, and you also have to consider door panels , dash, inside trims, they all add up.
