Almost there - thanks! Getting into 1st is still a bit of a struggle. The nut is currently sitting all the way to the right of this 'slide'. Where should it be ideally?

Sound like the problem with mine at the moment - plus it slips into 3rd when I go for 5th sometimes. It is an easy job to check the linkage?

Thanks - what do you reckon to rubbing out the scrapes/scratches with a flapper wheel, sanding it down with fine wet and dry, spraying the wheel with silver spray paint then finishing it off with a clear spray lacquer? -

Cheers six Funds are a bit tight at the moment but I'm sure to find some good deals online. Just want to replace the standard ones because they're just appalling!!

...sorry if this question's been asked before (and I'm sure it has!): My 2 previous cars (BMW E36 323i and M3) had timing chains, which apparently didn't require replacement as long as they were kept lubricated and the car serviced regularly. Does the same apply to the chain on the VR6?? Phil

Not sure what to do with the original manky BBS rims on my car. Should I get them refurbed and lower the car to fill in the arches? Or, would it be a better option to go for bigger 17" rims?

Hi all New owner here - I know there's a welcome section but I have a couple of questions to ask... I've had my VR6 for about 4 weeks now (it's a standard 1997 5dr in black with 78k on the clock) and in the last week, both rear electric windows have packed up! I've taken the door cards off and have noticed the cause - parts of the white plastic on both the regulators have cracked off. Is this a common fault on the car? Also, how difficult is it to do a DIY job on replacing the broken parts? Thanks Phil
