  1. it sounded rubbish and is not quick sorry.

LOL......so what is quick in your book then?

I take it you understand what an achievement it is to get a car into the 12s. You need big HP, excellent transmission, grip, driving ability..........12s are definately not slow and definately not to be sniffed at.

  2. The number for RUF (Old Z Engineering distributor) is 0041 1856 07 61

However, I believe they either sold the contract to, or became MC Racing, but i don't have there number. Just done a google search, but they don't come up anymore.

What exactly do you need from them?

  3. This is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.

If the guy owes you money, either:

    1) Go and get it!

    2) Send the Baliffs in

    3) Report the guy to the Police and Trading Standards.

    It's quite simple!!

If it were me, and someone was having fun spending my £2000 i'd be going straight up there to get it back, every last penny, and i wouldn't be moving from his doorstep until i got the lot.

    End of.

You guys need to sort it out, otherwise that monies gone.

  4. When i had my charged VR, i ended up having a 3rd box put in it just before i sold it.

The car was running in the region of 275bhp and 235lbft.

Varying factors lead to the box failures.

    * Broken selector shaft being the main culprit.

As said, the box should be good for around 280-300 lb/ft, but not only ower/torque being a factor, but also how you treat the box itself when driving!!

I'm notoriously hard through the gearbox (as some here may vouch) and ultimately that was the downfall where my boxes were concerned and not POWER/TORQUE.

Treat it with respect, because lets face it, the most VR's have well over 80k on them now and things are starting to wear!

  5. i do not believe that on 6 psi you can get 300bhp...unless you have SERIOUS engine work.

mighty must run about 8PSI and makes 275

although apd's runs at 8.5PSI (which im not sure about tbh' date=' its quite low, will have to confirm this), and makes 308BHP

if you include the lovely syncro's like justins, they make more power becuase they are 2.9, although i understand 2.9's are odb1???

justin maybe you can clarify if the syncro is odb2 or not.

    My OBD1 hit 275hp with a ZR2 running 6.5psi and Cams.

as i remember it hit just over 280 on the 1st power run though !amazed 8)

Yep she did indeed. Had to back her off though for safety reasons :D

  7. The characteristics of the 1.8T give you most of your torque much lower down the rev range than the VR. Hence, upto 100mph they won't be much in it. After this the VR will pull away from it. The K03 on the 150 1.8Ts is woefully small and suffers really badly from heatsoak so don't perform that well anything past 120mph.

Horses for courses and just the opposite characteristics of two different engines.
