Andy Mac 1
I am going to my own servive. The car is a 96 mk3 golf vr6 with 70K miles. It was last serviced last April 05 by a VW dealer and has done 8000 miles since. I dont really want to pay a garage/dealer to change oil and filters and other general checks so will carry out the service myself with the help of my mechanical minded dad. All I want to know is what needs to be done at this service, are there any books/guides that I can follow for this and future services. Any advise is much appreciated. vr6highline28 0
the absolute best guide im aware of is the bentley manual for the mk3 golf including the vr6 - its for the american market though differs little from the uk spec - its basically a vw workshop manual - it includes the exact service requirements for each model and when they need doing - bit pricy but make haynes (which dont cover the vr6) look like cartoon books !!!
