Slightly blowing s/s 6 branch - going to put stock ex. manifold back on - will I need a remap...

Recommended Posts

A while back I had a stainless 6 branch fitted along with cams and other mods etc. I also topped it off with a Stealth remap to get the fuelling spot on. However recently I have noticed the common 'tinny' noise get louder, so I think I may well have a small blow. I still have the stock 6 branch exhaust manifold so want to put this back on and replace the s/s 6 branch. My question is because I had a remap with all my mods will I need a remap 'tweak' after I put the stock ex. manifold back on to keep the fuelling ok or is it not really necessary? I did ask Stealth but not had any reply yet.

How many hours labour is it to replace the exhaust manifold approx?

Is it worth getting my stock exhaust 6 branch manifold "ported" to make it more free flowing...anywhere in the south that can do this properly? What sort of cost would this be?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Ian test drove it a while ago and thought it had a blow plus he thought it was losing power from 5000revs onwards. I have test driven it myself and don't notice any power drop off at 5000 revs but if anything it probably doesn't continue pulling as hard as it should. Although it all happens very quick that high up the rev range so hard to tell. My peak power is at 5800revs so I shouldn't see a power drop off until after this. My rev limiter was raised at Stealth to 6700. I can only assume there must be a slight blow causing the power drop at 5000 revs. Unless anything else could cause this?

i had the same thing and mine isnt blowing its probably just in our heads lol

In our own head (brain etc)' date=' or our cylinder head?

Do you need to ask????? Course he doesn't mean cylinder head!!!!

I dont think a small blow would cause a noticible drop in power, be it top end or anywhere else.

If you've not had it looked over by Tim for a blow then get that done first, otherwise your wasting your time and money.

You know it makes sense.

in regards to the bhp peak at 5800 rpm that means sod all mate its torque u need to look at mine makes peak torque at 4500 ish (this is where it feels strongest because its where the engine IS strongest) the torque will drop off from that point onwards
