RIX 0 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 since a freind off mine had a 3.1 abt enginen with abt 6branch race cat and 70mm exhaust.i have been toying with getting the same airbox as the one in his,i found out that it was from a corrado,i have now fitted the airbox i bought from Stev 24v,having deconede it as well(ididn´t think there was one i the corrado box),it had a K&N injection kit when i bought the car i have now,the swapped it for a deconede golf vr6 airbox with K&N filter in it,it lacked abit in reving compered too the injection kit.the corrado airbox from Stev also a used K&N in it(cleaned it this weekend)fitted it yesterday and what a diff. it is now noise wise betwen injection kit and modded oe box,and reving is about the same as injection kit.so iam a happy bunny :-p .there was abit off modding in volved,had too cut the brackets under the airbox off(other wise it sat too high,and cut the brace off the front the one that goes around the headlamp.i have alot off pic. but need help with putting them in here.so ithink it´s a very good mode if you don´t have 170pounds for a BMC cda,and don´t whant too make a heat shield for an injestion kit.THANKS STEV 24V for a very good deal RegardsRIX Link to post Share on other sites

RIX 0 Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 been driving at bit more in the car today,and it feels like 10bhp more,it pulls much stronger now,when i put it on and started it i reved it at the tb,and to much it hessitayted like it was getting to much air,it has now adjusted abit more and it pulls very vell now(maybe some off the diff. is coming from changeing from a very dirty K&N filter too a fressly cleaned.but deffenly way better now.i have mail some pic. too petesvw so i hope that he maybe could post them here.this airbox is only found in the corrado,my golf 2.9 syncro has the same box as the frontwheel driven ones. You noticed any improvement?I did mine bout 6 weeks ago matey,def noticed an improvement,still toying with ideas tho,trying some out this weekend (top secret )what il do is il get some pics up end of next week n show ya,the main problem i can c is there is soooo much built up heat under the vr bonnet its untrue,under bonnet heat is alot worse on my vr than any other car iv had including my scooby,but that had an ally bonnet so i supposed that helped lol Link to post Share on other sites
