Mk2 VR6 conversion - entering the dark side!

Recommended Posts

After 4 yrs of valver power in my mk2 Golf, I've decided to fit a VR6.

Bought a '96 Passat VR6 estate (OBD2) for £500 at the weekend, scored a Corrado rad + fans off eBay and just need to source a few other bits and bobs for the swap.

Plan is to find a mk3 16v box to use a 3.6 FD instead of the VRs looooong 3.3 which is pretty useless for track work, will get a Peloquin diff if funds allow.

Needed a bit of a clean methinks.

I'm going to use the Barge whilst sourcing bits for the conversion, insured it for £32 the month :)

Steam cleaned the engine bay at lunch time, looks a bit better.

Ordered a Carbonio CAI from APR in the States at the weekend, it arrived Weds

Offered it up to the car to see how it fits.
