bigpol 0
If we are talking mk3 chassis, ive been looking at 02m 121d series 2WD boxes found mainly in the states an the father land. but dont know as yet weather they foul the chassis legs cos they are quite a tall box by the looks of it. is there anybody out there with any more xperience of this box? vr6turbo 27
ive heard you can take off the transfer box and buy a blanking plate or get one machined out of stainless or alloybut im not going to buy 1 unless it fits for suremight be worth doing a search on vwvortex

bigpol 0
i think a 4 motion box is way too big to put into an older chassis without some serious bulkhead/chassis leg mods *-) *-)
vrsix5spd 0
I have actually been looking very seriously into mounting a 6 speed in my mk3 and so far I have found that a 02M will fit with custom trans mounts. There are 2 threads on Vortex that walk you through the process and I have them linked below. And I believe that a 4motion or R32 gearbox will fit so long as the rear output is blocked off.http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2633108http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2037481
bigpol 0
when you say blocked off , how do you mean? does the transfer box output shaft need removing? has anyone got any fairly detailed pictures of this gearbox? *-) *-) *-)
vr6turbo 27
no the transfer box needs removing and where it fits to the gearbox needs blocking offthanks for the links vrsix5spd
