Caddyslammed 16
bloody pricey, or it can be, anyone know anywhere who does a good deal?
binliner 0
ok remove the laquer with paint stripper then starting with 120 grit wet n dry remove any imperfections in the alloy then go through the grades removing EVERY scratch left by the previous grade until you get to 2000. Then you need a set of polishing mops (www.frost.co.uk) read the instructions and start buffing... when you can see your face in them, stop.It took me nearly 10 hours a wheel just to do the cut outs so patience is the order of the day
Caddyslammed 16
ok, i just want to strip them with nitromores or summit, and then all i really want to concentrate on is just the main face of the wheel, the face of the spokes, i dont want to polish the cut outs or inside the wheel, and also i will probably get them laquered so as you might guess, i do not want a mirror finish, just an even good finish, surly this must be easier than the masterpieces on your car binliner? my car is dragon green, and i think they will be better slightly duller, than if my car was black or mulberry, if it was black or mulberry, i would definately want mirror polished. binliner 0
if you're going to get them laquered you may as well get the same person to refurb them
stockers 1
i think if your gonna polish them do them properly and to a mirror finish, a badly polished wheel looks shit. if you do as much as you can following justins guide of working down the wet and dry, you will beable to take it to a coachworks and they will be able to mop them to get the final finish, and it won't cost you as much. after all, what you are paying for is 'time' .
