VRmonster 1
Ive had my fidanza flywheel fitted. weighing just 6 lbs compared to the standard 18 lbs. and in all honesty, i would recomend doing this if you ever have to drop the gearbox, as there is a very noticable increase in acceleration through first and second. the car seems to pick up better in low revs in fifth too. maybe not worth dropping the box to put one in, but worth the £380 if you have to replace or remove your gearbox anyway. overall a very good mod to do. my car feels much gruntier now. ha ha. should add to my bhp readings on the RR too, cos ill have less drivetrain losses. now im thinking about 6 spd... Guest Olly_K
cool mate. thanks for sharing that with us. Was thinking about a nice light flywheel for mine. where did you get it from ? what is the idle like ? still the same or a bit lumpy ?
VRmonster 1
the idle seems fine, its always been a little lumpy, even before getting the flywheel fitted, so no change realy. i got mine from co-ord sport. 01384 216102. very nice to deal with too. had it delivered within a day. as i needed it desperately. i want to see what this would be like with a close box and a short shift. could be fun, lol. PhatVR6 0
I too have the fidanza wheel, but mine runs very lumpy under 3000rpm. I put this down to the flywheel, but after reding this post I think it could be something else. hmmm.
Guest Olly_K
i posted in here last night and now its gone ?it said do they have a web address ?and who fitted it for you ?
VRmonster 1
[link]http://www.coordsport.co.uk/default.asp i got the flywheel from here, next day delivery.[link]http://www.fidanza.com/also i had the flywheel fitted while my gearbox was being replaced by a local garage, not a vw specialist. and now i cant get 1st, 2nd, or reverse properly. so go with a vw tuner or gearbox specialist. lol. i wouldnt have had this fitted if i hadnt neede a new box, but now its in im glad i did, the car feels so responsive, and does rev more freely.
