28v6r 0
Right before we begin....MINES IS SPOTLESS ok? Been cleaned with carb cleaner verrrry recently!Soooo... If you disconnect the sensor whilst the engine is running can anyone tell me what "Does" happen??Reason: I suspect mine to be on the way out, I'm gettin a flat spot and misfire at around 2800/3k rpm not all the time just occasionally. Its only just materialised after a long hall run down to Rougely and back, weather conditions were dry so I know its not dampness (Sprayed the NEW coilpack in water, no change there, idles fine)I had the misfire cured, fitted new leads, new coilpack, new plugs, dried out the leads, the coilpack the liberally coated them in WD40 no damp start problems whatsoever, nothing, nada and now this... Me thinks it is the Hall sender, as mine was very heavily gummed up and took alot of effort to return to brightwork.. but it got done, and I'm of the opinion that now that its recieving a good signal ..its gone and burnt out! Hence the question, what happens if its disconnected whilst the engines running? just for test purposes...The Car is booked in on Monday for VAG com...

28v6r 0
Hmmmm... Disconnected mine and it revved freely.. thats what makes me think its not getting a correct signal.. + its a very intermittent misfire.. like there just now, drove home about 4 miles in total... absolutely nothing, smooth as silk.. but idling whilst waiting was lumpy..otherwise it pulls well.. the plugs were a nice golden brown colour when I pulled them this morning... bazz780 0
in the dark, pop the hood open and stare at the engine bay, you may see where the mis fire is coming from. i dont think hall sender will cause misfire just hesitation

kilokilla 0
check all your breather hoses are intact and firmly connected including rockercover vent 1 as any slight air leaks can cause this problem mate.
