Guest DanVR6
Hello all, car has been loosing quite abit of water and today after being able to get my first proper look I have found out why. However im new to VR6 owenrship and have no idea what the part is. Driving around normally there is no problem no leaks or anything but once I sit it traffic and the temp starts to rise i get a steady jet of water spraying out. Ive got afew pics of where its coming from, they arnt that great (its only a phone cam).http://usera.imagecave.com/Peahol3/VR6/28-01-06_1252.jpghttp://usera.imagecave.com/Peahol3/VR6/28-01-06_1253.jpghttp://usera.imagecave.com/Peahol3/VR6/28-01-06_1254.jpgThe water is coming out the back, spraying onto the head. Looks like its been going on awhile you can see the brown mess its made over everything. Any help would be appreciated as to what it is and how easy its going to be to change, thanks. 28v6r 0
Well, first the bad news ...its the thermostat housing that appears to be leaking.. good news is its not that expensive a repair and its an easy one to carry out..you just need to remove the coil pack to gain access to all three bolts as one is hidden, then it allows clear access to the hoses that can be removed using a pipe clamp then it just slides off.. remember to take out the blue and yellow sensors before removal, give them a clean before reinstalling and fit new O rings...and you should be fine.. thegoth 5
If you're lucky it could just be the o rings around the switches/sensors, and blanking plate. I've had two fail in as many months. The water wasn't spraying out but I caught them early.TG.
