Buzzark 0
Probably been asked a thousand times, but I couldn't see it..Do 16" wheels from a mk4 e.g. a gti, fit a 97 5 stud mk3 golf?I'm possibly looking for some 16" wheels and tyres when it comes to the point of replacing the boots on my 15" standard highline wheels.I just want something oem look, but I do fancy the R32 and Audi RS4 style alloys. Slim 0
Yes they do. I'd imagine R32 rims would be too big for a mk3 though.
Buzzark 0
Well it's that sort of look I'm after, but not that large.16" really, the suspension on the car at the moment is already quite stiff, I don't want to lose much more ride quality by going to 17" ers.Plus there's always the cost factor, I'm sure there are some bargains to be had with mk4 owners that have upgraded to 17" from the standard 16" rims. The GTi etc, normally wears 16" rims I think? antera309 3
Yes, Mk4 GTI wheels will fit the (5-stud) mk3 no problem, but different tyres will have to be used.
Buzzark 0
Yeah that's a point. So really I just want the wheels, not wheels + tyres.
Matt W 4
Yeah wheels from a Mk4 will fit even the R32 wheels, all Mk4's are 5x100 just like all Mk3 VR6 and GTI's. Only problem being is that R32 wheels will be too big at 18" you'll need some serious arch work to get them to fit. Generally 18" is considered too big for the Mk3.As said also the Mk4 uses bigger tyres (profile) so you will definately need some new tyres if you get some wheels from the Mk4, i believe offsets (ET) shouldn't really be an issue either! antera309 3
Even the 17" wheels from the Golf Mk5 GTI will fit a VR6.
