sparkz 0
Doers anyone know where i can get these from (preferably vag original) I have tried uk dealers and no one has a clue. I know that the early mk4 v6 4motion came with a 12v engine (in the states though). Better still, has anyone got a part number that i could maybe give to vw to cross reference? Many thanks in advance.
mightyvr6 0
I wouldn't bother with a copper gasket (if you want to lower teh compression) Just get a proper head spacer from c2 motorsports which consists of a stainless steel spacer with 2 oem gaskets on either side. sparkz 0
mightyvr6...funny you should say that. I have bought 2 oem heag gaskets from vag and i have been offered a stainless steel spacer from www.streetracetuning.co.uk. Would this be the same principal as if i was to buy it from c2 motorsports? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
mightyvr6 0
Yes that amounts to the same thing then. SS spacer with 2 oem gaskets. The spacer isnt actually glued/fixed to the gaskets so you just install the gasket-spacer-gasket then bolt the head down and torque to oem spec.
sparkz 0
Standard bolts or arp bolts? Once its done, along with a 11 psi pulley, chargecooler (or intercooler) and aquamist, it will be going to AMD for a custom remap! P.s. Mightvr6...can i interest you in a chargecooler for your vortech v1 charger, with pipework, rad, pump. Made to fit a mk3, but coz ive got a mk2, it may be too much hassle for me to shoehorn it in!! mightyvr6 0
ARP are your best bet. Reusable and they will make a better seal as they're not stretch bolts.Mines a rado so I'm not sure it would fit very easily as everything is a bit cramped. Thanks for the offer but I think I'll go with water injection as it's more compact and easier to install.
apd 0
i have the copper head gasket fitted to my s/c mk3 golf.running a v2 blower at 8.5psi.the head is sealed with RACETEC arp bolts.stealth did all the mods for previous owners.seal is not 100%,say about 95%.no issues with oil loss.i believe the head is wire ringed for the gasket and head to bite together.got to have copper/stacked gaskets to lower compression as when the piston is in the up position it would clash with the valve.if i were you contact vince at stealth, friendly guy-supply parts and info required.
