stockers 1
how much difference in traction and grip do you get if you go for 195 in stead of 205?is it noticable?
purple highline monster 0
195`s are cheaper! wouldnt think in ordinary driving theres much in it? acceleration may be better with 195 and 205 has better footprint and little bit more grip? doubt its really that noticable, 205 fills the arch a bit better imo
stockers 1
205's do fill the arch more, but you can go lower on 195's if you go for a 7 1/2" or 8" rim
purple highline monster 0
oooh i wouldnt recomend putting a 195 on an 8j wide rim! the 205 on mine just stretches enough! and you lose out big on handling with over stretched tyres and it knocks the bolox out the centres, my mate bought dave morden (from club gti) old g60 and that had 195`s on 9j bbs rs`s & it wouldnt go round a corner in the wet! it was ok ish in the dry, but no normal tyre companys would fit the tyres when they wore out as they said it was dangerous! stockers 1
interesting, a guy at a wheel shop (won't name it) tried to get me to go with 195's on 8"
petervr6 0
ye na 205 on an 8 the tyre could pop off the bead if theres to much stress on it.
purple highline monster 0
he hasnt got a life insurance on you has he? seriously though they look good stretched on but they even look unsafe! 205`s you can still go lower if they are on 8x 16`s, i got my 205 40 17`s T1S`s for 52 + german tax from mytyres free delivery 16`s will be cheaper still i would think, toyos stretch really well and still sit nice on a wide rim, grip well for the money too!! !amazed
purple highline monster 0
they sit fine, according to all the tyre/wheel info i have found a 205 is the narrowest recommended for an 8j rim
stockers 1
those arches look v nice nick sit nigh on perfect imo
badboyV6 4
same here - 205's on an 8 are fine- im going to stretch to 8.5 with these tyres soon and see how i get on.... ;-) see you on the other side lol
purple highline monster 0
!shy needs too go up about 5-10 mil on drivers side though! i am a bit heavy! and the arch rubs a tincy bit on bad roads or really hard corners! wing hasnt come off yet though so its not too bad! !amazed
