purple highline monster 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Report Share Posted January 1, 2006 as title, want to know if anyone is using a bigger than standard battery, the one on mine is a 60 amp 280ah VW part number 1H0915105G, i think/know its fooked, as it goes flat after about 5 days even when its been on a run (or fully charged by charger), it started to play up a while back and now its forever going flat when i go to use it!!! it only has vw fit alarm/immobiliser, i am going to buy a new VW one this week and thought a bigger unit may help as i dont use it every day, if anyones using one does it fit in the battery tray ok? no problem with terminals reaching?, any thoughts appreciated. purple highline monster 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 1, 2006 mmmm i had that problem with my Rallye golf`s boot light, i will have to check but i think its all switching off ok, best way is to get it on a volt meter i suppose and see what that reads, i dont know if its a combination of lack of use/alarm being set/iffy battery, cheers for the reply i will try and rectify it tommorow, if it will charge up!!! purple highline monster 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 1, 2006 found it!! boot light was remaining on even when doors locked with remote, how unlucky am i to have 2 cars that have done the same! i have disconected the lamp for the time being, can anyone tell me where the boot light switch is? from memory i think its a micro switch in the lock mechanism? if someone knows for sure can they post it so i can get it fixed, and cheers for the pointer andy Link to post Share on other sites

Its probably just under 1/3 bigger than the standard battery, but still fits in the existing clamp/space. Just means you can't use the jacket. Link to post Share on other sites
