SankysVR6 1 Posted November 22, 2005 Report Share Posted November 22, 2005 I've started to get a scraping noise when i'm turning the steering wheel in either direction the noise is coming from inside the car near steering wheel.Anyone know what this could be and how to fix it. richievr 1 Posted November 22, 2005 Report Share Posted November 22, 2005 mine does that too . . . .i think its just dirty (or possibly dry and need greasing) just behind the wheel where the horn contacts spin around . . .i guess take the wheel off and check its not got grit in and has some grease in there. . Matt W 4 Posted November 22, 2005 Report Share Posted November 22, 2005 If its not that then it could be the slip ring (if you have a airbag steering wheel). Mine was making the noise so took the wheel of and regreased the contact for the horn. It cured it (6mths ago) but now its come back with an airbag light as well. So my money is on the clock spring in the slip ring being nackered. Link to post Share on other sites
