if you want to reset the ecu ive been told to leave it unpluged for 30 minutes to be safe and then plug it back in and leave you ignition on for 10-20 minutes to allow the throttlebody adaptation to complete, if you dont have vagcom.

i don think it makes such a huge difference though i wouldnt have thought it neccary tbh.

I wouldn't have thought so, you're not changing anything really - the standard chip is designed to cope with variances in air pressure and temperature and the leads don't do anything except carry a stronger spark at the most, it's more about reliability with leads.

Mechanical alterations and general drivability improvements are the prime reasons for a chip tune.
