Is it normal for a Lambda Probe to become de-attached from your Cat. I noticed the exhaust blowing last night, so I had a local garage put the car in the air, who pointed to something coming off of the Cat, which was about 8 - 10mm in diameter. It was blowing out air like no bodys buisness, they said they could only replace the Cat, have some one weld it up or put a bolt in there. (Okay Mr Cowboy Sir) I said, so here I am asking your advice. Am I right in saying this is where the Lambda Probe is housed, or is it some thing else.

Any help would be great, cheers guys..................and girls,

Steve

was there a wire attached to it? was up by the front? because mk3 cats have a bit on the cat that sticks out and after a while corrodes and blows like a f""k usually just weld up the end if its the same bit were talking about. but ive never seen a lamba probe become de-attached before pic would be good if poss and if u aint decked to the floor.
