28v6r 0
Was doing a bit of cleaning in and around the engine bay today and had all the air hoses/ MAF off etc.. had the hose that connects to the rocker cover off , as you look onto the engine from the Offside/Driverside wing.. spotted a small wire hanging out of the rocker casing vent.....and found a clump of rusty cruddy wire all coiled up in the metal vent hose. What I want to know is this a filter of some sort i.e wire mesh type?, should it be there?, what does it do? Can anyone who has a rocker cover handy look at the case vent at the driverside and tell me if it does have a function and reside in there?? removed mine to reveal trouble &| ...oily smoke out of the exhaust... test drove it.. nuttin' nada zippo.. no oil and hasn't done it since.. mes hoping I got lucky and that it was all the crud that I cleaned off her today seeing as it was a one off incident... any ideas?? :? antera309 3
It's a flame guard, designed to prevent the ignition of crankcase vapours in the event of a backfire. It can be purchased seperately, so no worries. You will need two parts - the flame guard itself and the locking ring that holds it in.
