acf8181 0
does the abs actually work?(have you tried driving down a quite road and jumping on the brakes to see if they lock up?)think it's usually a wheels sensor ring thingy (technical name) that needs a clean up. VR6Pete 1,455
my ABS light was on after i had a RR..... stayed on until i slammed on me brakes
tommy 0
At the rr day I attended all the cars suffered the same thing...apparently the rr spins out the abs sensors or something like that :?
gusto 0
yeah the abs should go mental on a rr cause the wheel speed sensors are on the rear hubs so the poor abs wouldn't have known what had hit it!!!
VR6Pete 1,455
was ok after though
dubloke 4
had the same trouble with my vr, abs light would come on and go off to start with under hard braking, then it stayed on all the time. replaced both front wheel sensors from euro car parts for £74 the pair, half the price of vw and exzctly the same ate sensors that were allready fitted! replaced the rear reluctor rings when changing the discs so no problems with the rear ones! maak 0
Are they hard to replace/clean?Washed my car yesterday and my ABS light came on this morning, could that have caused the problem? arg.
dubloke 4
the front ones are relatively easy, yes. take the wheel off and give them a quick squirt with wd40 as they tend to gather all the road crud.one bolt to undo then they just pull out of the housing, some gentle persuasion with mole grips or pliers may be needed. just make sure you get a pair if you replace them, because they are handed.
