Water Injection (Pictures + Video)

Recommended Posts

they are autogauge smoked, electroluminecant gauges. 1 boost and the other is air/fuel. I've got a 2 pod a piller moulding for the mk3 on its way, but its going to take another week to come!

the injector goes into the boost inlet pipe after the charger, but before the throttlebody (its close to the supercharger exit side of the boost pipe).

its run, but it needs a remap to take full advantage of the effects of WI.

its not expensive to do if you install it yourself. Quite honestly, you can do a REALLY good job if you spend about 20 quid on bits and bobs, i'm really happy with my install, i just need to find a proper water bottle and i'll be content!

took me a total of 4 hours to install and test, but you need drills and what not if you want to mount it properly. You can just cable tie everything....

also the website is www . tuninguk .co.uk ive corrected the link in my original post.

it cools things down in operation lol. you can hear the engine rpm change slightly, but the benefits wont be fully realised until i get the dastek remapped to take full advantage of the cooler running cylinders are high boost conditions.

the water would run down into the sparewheel well if it did leak...its very unlikely the connections are so strong the only way i could seperate the pipe work was to cut off the end and take a stanley knife to the barbs....its very quiet when in operation too, you can hear it prime if the engine's off, but with the engine on, you need to rely on the system 'activated' LED.

Hiren, a tip for ya.

On the cabrio, there is a trim panel that goes over that area where you've mounted the tank & pump (on a cabrio that's where the power hood pump is), finished in the same grey stipple as the rest of your trim.

You could use one of these panels to cover it all up and make the install look "factory". The cover even has a hole in it (with pop-out cover) that you could use to top up the water tank.

The part number is 1E0 857 467 if you're interested.

Have you had the car Rolling Roaded since fitting the new kit?

antera thats BRILLIANT, im going to make a 'filler' pipe so i can fill water up easily, and install a fan in the panel work, thats the main reason i didnt put it under the seats, it needs ventilation, the computer fans are 12v and perfect for mounting on plastic trim...

rolling road on the 12th of october...thanks for the tip m8, i really appreciate it, my boot looks 'less than factory' at the moment, and thats what i loved about the vr6, it looks classy when lightly modded :).

Yeah, you could pop a few holes in the cover and install a fan behind it no problem.

You might need a different shaped tank in order for it all to fit behind the cover. Just a matter of going round your local scrappy looking at screenwash/coolant bottles from different cars until you find one that fits nicely. Remember, some cars have boot-mounted washer bottles for the rear washers.

oh god, i really want that cover, its perfect, the pump stays open to air, but it covers the water bottle (so no need to buy a new one!) BRILLIANT, i'll get to vw tommorow and order one. if i rasie the bottle slightly, it'll fit, but it wont 'look' that great, if its covered, it doesnt matter!
