vr6 g3 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Report Share Posted September 22, 2005 People might do it in different ways, but when i've done it i use paint stripper to get the old laquer off, then use wire wool to get any marks out and use auto-sol to polish the ali up, its not a 2 minute job but for the time what it takes is worth it.The only down side is you'll have to use metal polish on them every week to get the water marks off. binliner 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Report Share Posted September 22, 2005 Id be surprised if you can get a mirror finish from wire wool and autosol!I used a polishing kit from frost.co.uk and wet n dry for the awkward bits that the mops wouldnt get into to do mine... keep them clean with a wash once a week and the occasional polish with some good metal polish Link to post Share on other sites
