Lower flywheel cover seal

Recommended Posts

this isnt really needed, its just to stop dirt and grime from entering the clutch/flywheel housing, but if you nip the bolts up enough it shouldnt matter anyway.

i asked at vw if they do it but they said theyve never heard of it. i think you have to buy the whole metal cover with the seal attatched.

Cheers lads, yes it is the cover near the sump.

I went VW tonite and they couldn't even find it on computer. I'll make the best of wot i've got with a bit of silicone.

When i got home Sunday night there was oil all over that area, i think its come from Rocker cover gasket which was shot. I've give it a good going over, checked everything and renewed anything that locked dodgy.

Be taking it for a spin 2mrw so fingers crossed

Cheers

well just so you know there is no oil whatsoever inside that area but can leak very easily down from the rocker to the back of the gearbox. also a little piece of sticky foam from a door seal would be a better option to the silicone as the area should really be breathable to let the clutch get cool air to it.
