mulberry man 0
my water header tank runs out in just a few hours if i cane it there is no obvious leak that i can see . Has anyone else had this problem?
Nerih 0
check oil cap for mayonaise and do a fumes test in the header tank.if nothing then do a pressure test of the water system, check radiator too, but u'd usually see steam coming off it. After u've caned it, let it idle over 1 spot for a minutes and then switch it off and leave it over night and see if there's any water spots.
VR6Pete 1,455
It could just be a coolant leak, any signes of leakage around the thermostat housing?
Adamski FRST 0
my housing is leaking too how do i fix that do i need a new thermostat gasket???
VR6Pete 1,455
yep, you normally find it's just the gasket, however I have seem them warp under heat before.
bazz780 0
i just replaced the whole thermostat housing and thermostat with the gaskets/o-rings, stopped the leak straight away, my mechanic showed me the old housing which was corroded on the edges.cost 150 all in i think (parts from euro car parts)

Nerih 0
mulbery ofc, the first thing to do is like pete said, look for white residue in the engine bay, to identify any possible coolant leak's!
