karlc 0 Posted April 25, 2016 Report Share Posted April 25, 2016 I have a vr6 converted mk3 cabriolet have a strange one, connect battery up car starts and drives fine switch off and start up again it will run then die after a second my thought was immobiliser so bought one of those emulators wired it in connected battery up started and ran fine switch off same problem! Disconnect and reconnect battery it starts first go. Front windows will sometimes go down of own accord sometimes when starting don't know if this is connected. No fault codes it's as though something is blocking restart yet disconnect and reconnect battery all is well I have reinstated immobiliser with no change so don't think it's that any ideas bar a complete check of wiring. On conversion I just swapped engine loom the white plugs in fusebox have I missed something everything seems to work other than this restart issue it happens hot and cold and will reset after battery -be removed and refitted.
