Guest couzens
Service the engine when required, ie. at the designated service intervals of 10k and you will be OK. Its a 2.8 litre engine meaning you will easily get 250,000 miles out of it. Then its a Golf = German build quality so you are looking at a least 300,000 before its on its last legs. Providing you don't red-line it always you should be fine. A front engine mount, though, will be something you will eventually need as the lump does chew its way through them, but not at 65k. Mines done 116K and its only starting to go now! These cars like miles especially at a steady pace on the motorway and they were built as crusier's. jamieVR6 0
Mines a '96 & has got 98000 on the clocks, all genuine with full service history. When i got it the only thing wrong were the cat, the brakes & the suspension was knackered. I've done 10000 in the last year with no problems at all engine wise.
