Eat this 2
its a straight fit nothin else needs altering ul get a HUGE increase in midrange power and itl probably cost about
jaysVR6 2
You wont need a different filter but it'll help for all the usual reasons, but you WILL need a reemap, rolling raod etc. MateP.S Bare in mind OD1 & OBD2 Shrick inlet manifolds are different, components can be swapped but it aint worth the hasstle. Eat this 2
u dont NEED a remap i ran mine for a few months np whatsoever the stock ecu seemed to learn the schrick in the first day or so a remap will extract the full potential though
MrBen 0
I wouldn't go so far as to say a HUGE increase in midrange power, but what you will get is a substantial increase in torque from about 2,500 revs. IMHO it makes the car much nicer to drive, and VW really should have fitted them as standard (which was considered but ruled out on cost). If you want big power, it's worth considering that a good second hand supercharger wouldn't be a huge amount more, and gives much more significant power gains - though these will be at higher engine speeds. So it really depends what you are after! stockers 1
ok, cheers. i,m not really looking for a huge increase in speed but i would like to feel more pull between 3000 and 5000 revs.(current 194bhp and 181 lb ft)
jaysVR6 2
I'm considering going for a charger over all the Shrick stuff really. Mark (Minty) ended up selling his Inlet after getting his Charger. For a big increase go for a charger and after all, to get the best out your shrick I'd get it mapped as well so your looking well over a grand anyway and getting into charger teritory! Hiten 0
i fitted as schrick to my 3.1 yesterday and felt a difference in instant acceleration. it's good but not that good.i might even take it off and sell it as very tight in my mk2 golf engine bay.
MrBen 0
I find the point where the Schrick makes a big difference is at part throttle when you are pootling about - there's just so much more pull in the mid range.
