purple highline monster 0
Is it vag alarm? if it is it should be registerd with the dealer who fitted it, if you get no joy ring milton keynes and get them to boot the dealer up in the air!! ~ if not your best bet is an independant auto electrician or someone like that mate. :|
jayvwvr6 0
is it the standard vw alarm?if it is my insurance company (adrian flux)told me it WAS when the cars were built a cat 1 alarm but as alarms get better these days it is no longer a cat 1 or 2.also when i went to a alarm specialist asking if they could do a certificate to prove it even had a alarm i was told that the labour cost involved for checking that the alarm was working, installed and correctly fitted would be the same as them putting a brand new cat 1 alarm!!so it prob worth just getting a new one?gutting i no but thats what i had to do. cliveyp 0
Had a feeling it'd be a bit like that Jay......just gonna have to ride it out for a few weeks till i can afford to get another one. Question is....which one??? I had a Toad on the Corrado which was OK, but did have a few little niggles, and a Clifford C300 on the MK2, which was faultless in 2.5 years.....but i hear they can have problems. Your choices?? MSV83 0
my insurance company also asked the same thing but vw wouldnt give anything so went and got a clifford cat 1 approved alarm fitted wid the certificate.... now they are happy
purple highline monster 0
i have had 3 clifford alarms and although they have been reliable they drain your battery big time if you leave your car a little while! and the recent theft of one of the members cars while equiped with a clifford kinda makes me think the crooks have sussed a few of the ways around them!!! badboyV6 4
Yeah, and dont forget about that poor bloke who just had his charged purple highline nicked (while fitted with a clifford) :-(What about a toad ai606?
cliveyp 0
Warren, the Toad Ai606 was what i had on the Corrado. I dare say it was just not fitted right tbh, but i wasn't as happy with it as i was the Clifford.
Pittuf 0
I've had a couple of cliffords now, I find them to be quite tempramental and need to be taken back and little problems fixed quite often.I recently spoke with an alarm fitter whilst at John Austins and he said Cliffords were terrible.Next time I buy one I think I'll get a toad.
