CALICO 130
Hi guys Does anybody know if the Mk4 288mm brakes are the same mounting as the mk3 ie do I need to use spacers as with the 312mm. I need to return my brakes back to 288 from 312 to refit my 15" wheels but I want to keep all the spacers and carriers. Thanks in advance
Lukey. 381
I have not physically tried it but my 288mm mk3 VR discs look identical in every dimension to my A3 that has 288 mm discs

CALICO 130
Just for information you need 6mm spacers to fit the mk4 288mm brakes as the discs are slightly more inward same as 312mm so if people need more wheel clearance for 15" or 16" wheels this could be an option. michael5556 247
Yeah 6mm spacer, unless you use mk4 discs
Surreyvr6 199
So mk4 288 discs and calipers will go straight on to the mk3 without spacers, changing carriers etc? What size wheels did you have with your 312s calico? Just want to get into my head a few options when I get round to freshening up my brakes. Going to go with mk4 rears and not sure at the front Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lukey. 381
It would make sense that the 6mm spacers are needed for mk4 288s as they are for mk4 312s
michael5556 247
It would but I have mk4 discs on the front of mine and it doesn't need a spacer. Doesn't make sense to me either lolI'm actually selling that set up and fitting 312's today so I shall report back! Thanks Edited May 7, 2014 by michael5556
CALICO 130
I bought a set of mk4 288's to return mine to standard from 312 but I needed to use a few washers to get them to fit without stopping the disc from moving when I got hold of a mk3 disc I found the bell part that fits on the hub was deeper I would get pictures but I don't want to take them off again.
