chrisvr6t 19
If petrol has mixed with your oil can It mess up the oil pump? As where I've fitted my recirc but not routed it back in yet it's over fueling a lot and oil smells of petrol and top end seems really dry? Bealieboy 1,625
Mmmm, not sure on this one. At least you know why, so should be easily remedied. Best plan is, fix the problem and change the oil I reckon as the petrol is Possibly making the oil thin? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chrisvr6t 19
Yeah oil has defo got fin so gonna change it out just want to know if it can damage the pump as I took off oil cap and looks really dry when running Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bealieboy 1,625
Thinning of the oil is not good, you are right in saying top end looks dry. I've just googled it and general consensus shows major engine failure if problem is not rectified. I'd guess rings would wear before the pump and that overfuelling must be dealt with as priority. The overfuelling will play havoc with the ignition timing via the various sensors, but these sensors doing their job shouldn't knock your engine out too quickly. Get that recirc sorted and it'll be happy days! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 22, 2014 by Bealieboy

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk thanks mate, Im gonna sort it Monday as my welder is back at work then he can just weld the piece I need on to my intake, then change oil filter, oil, new plugs, hopefully I won't see any metal shavings in my engine
UnitedMotorsport 55
The fuel will break down the oil and it will loose most of it lubricating properties. This will destroy the bearings in the bottom end if used like this.
chrisvr6t 19
So worst case scenario new big end bearings and rod bearings? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Daverse 175
Cant say it will do you vso's any good either. Or lifters. Or piston rings. Just get it fixed to be honest!Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Jakeyb 23
well over fueling will more than likely cause bore wash .. as said contaminated oil is useless as it cannot do the job it needs too.. personally id put it back how it was hen it was working fine ... as changed the oil ASAP and run a stabilizer like the Lucas products ... hope for the best .. why did u run the recirc without it being plumed back in the other side ive gotta ask >? chrisvr6t 19
I fitted the recirc thinking that my welder was back at work for him to weld the piece on the intake so I thought everything would be cool, but that wasn't the only problem after driving the car for a while the car would just die and won't start for like 10-15 mins of cooling down, so everytime that happened I'm sitting there Trying to start it so that's part of it as well and this was happening before I put the recirc on!! So gonna try out another crank position sensor and new plugs new oil and filter and hope engine goes quiet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bealieboy 1,625
I recently had crank sensor changed on mine. That's not clever when that starts poncing about. Breaking down in traffic multiple times is not my idea of fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chrisvr6t 19
Exactly that lol it pis*ed me off so I took it out on the car n just sat there trying to start it lol but then thought let it cool down for a bit and it fired but it's caught me out quite a few times Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
UnitedMotorsport 55
Sounds like it is majorly over fueling. What is live lambda trim at idle, after clearing codes?
chrisvr6t 19
Wide band stayed in the 14s on idle before I put the recirc on and in boost will drop to 11.1 10.8Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chrisvr6t 19
Recirc is fully plumbed in now she's back idling properly with wideband bouncing from 14.5 - 14.8 now just to service it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jakeyb 23
Least it's behaving more now . Cars hey u gotta love um Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chrisvr6t 19
Haha I know mate it's a pain in the neck but worth it when you feel boost haha, it's only on 0.4bar at the moment just to sort out teething issues, but have put it up to 1bar and it's a totally different car, oh I just want to add the car hasn't seen boost or even been over 2k revs with the contaminated oil, before you guys think I'm nuts n stupid lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chrisvr6t 19
When recirc wasn't plumbed in properly on idle the wide band was reading 10.0 lol so was basically dumping the fuel I should be seeing In boost then some times bounce all the way round to like 17 18s car didn't know what to do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
