You could always change the rings if you wanted absolute perfect compression.... its not really needed though.If youve got tons of spare cash get some forged pistons and ring set in preparation for the turbo ;-) Link to post Share on other sites
VRmonster 1 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Share Posted May 8, 2005 you deffo want to swap out the main oil seals on front and back. and all gaskets you remove too. depends how far into the block your digging. if you get a compression and leak down test that will tell you how bad your engine is and where the problems are. unless there is some major problems (shot pistons/rings) i wouldnt even bother with the bottom end tbh, just get the top end done.
