Seademon 0
Yo! Im getting my ABS pump changed next week and whilst its in Im thinking of getting the brake fluid changed to Dot 5 - anyone have any experience using this on the Vr6?I've got a big disc conversion all round and stainless steel hoses - brakes are amazing as they are but Im going to the ring next month and want the brakes to handle anything I stamp on them! 8)

andy 0
defiantely check, I'm not sure you can use dot
Seademon 0
Ah ok! I'll just stick to dot 4 then - taken me long enough to sort a pump out as it is! I havent managed to overheat them since I've had the car, just thought as I'd be replacing the fluid etc etc
Joe M 0
Do not use dot 5, its silicone based and will rot the seals. It also expands more when heated and on some cars can cause the brakes to jam on.What you want is dot 5.1, this is a suitable replacement for dot 4 and is higher rated and lasts longer. Pretty cheap from halfords as well.
