Hutch 14
Hi, new car and my Rear nearside speaker / tweeter is dead... cabling at radio is fine and at speaker end. So before I start yanking meters of cable out, are there any common failure / pinch points for speaker cabling in the rear doors? (Mk3 Golf VR6)Cheers!
michael5556 247
If it's standard wiring then look at the large plug where the wiring comes through the pillar
Hutch 14
Hi, thanks, can you explain a little more where that is? Is it right after the rubber boot? I want to strip as little trim as possible as it's all pretty old and I can imagine lugs snapping!
michael5556 247
Is it 3dr or 5dr? Standard speakers or aftermarket?
Hutch 14
Hey Michael you were absolutely right! Just behind the modular plug there are 2 broken wires and one 'nicked' one that's about to go. It's dark out and I wasn't able to get the plug back in, so I've had to leave the car unlocked until I can see what I'm doing. If you have any advice on how to get that plug re-attached (it seems one needs super small fingers!) I'd appreciate it. As far as the wires go, I'll find out how to take the door cards off and get that part of the loom out and do some repairs. Cheers!Ben VR6Pete
