Zonda_ 0
Pretty sure my catalyst has died and I'm buggered if I'm gonna fork out to replace it! I'd rather spend the money on a decent exhaust system sans cat.Anyone got any recommendations? And Supersprints £571+VAT is frankly ridiculous.
acf8181 0
you'll need cat for MOT though
badboyV6 4
get one off ebay for temporary instaltion and get cat bypass from raceland or something- then only 30 quid (maybe less) as its no different to any other cat bypass pipe.
Zonda_ 0
It's a common misconception that you need a cat for an MOT, you don't. If your car will pass the emissions test without one then it does not have to have one.
fabio_vr6 0
you will find mate even if it passes it needs a cat after a certin year k plate and up i think?
Zonda_ 0
Nope. They had to be fitted to cars from 93 onwards from new but there is nothing in law to say you cannot remove the cat and when it comes to those cars being MOT'd they don't have to have them as long as their emissions are low enough to meet the requirements. My mate's an MOT tester. Slim 0
Who quoted you that for a Supersprint? Is it gold plated or something? I was £480 for my system including VAT and fitting. They're well worth paying an extra hundred quid or so for in my opinion, you'll benefit in the long run.
Zonda_ 0
I forget the name, somewhere in Northallerton.

This is the reason i had to get rid of my powerflow system! the emmisions where ok, but no cat was installed so it was a fail, personally dont believe in having mot tester "mates" ~
acf8181 0
well...i think the point is it will be very hard to get the emissions lwo enough without the cat...tbh i just don't see the point of going through all this hassle for a few bhp.
Zonda_ 0
Not interested in the bhp gain, my cat is dead and needs replacing/removing. I'm going for the cheaper option.
