silverline 0
Raced a vauxhall carlton gsi, i started off in front couldnt lose him i slowed down as we were storming up behind cars fast!! then he got past ~ i couldnt catch him, he was pulling away from me, not by too much tho.i had a mate with me and the carlton driver was on his own which goes in his favour.in peoples opinion should the VR6 keep up with a 3.0l 24v vauxhall carlton?. badboyV6 4
Yeah but they are quick! Was it the GSI 3000? if so probably not going to beat him if your cars standard- they were a good motor in their day....
acf8181 0
yeah, gsi is similar performance....bloody fun cars actually, easy to power slide.when i was at the 'ring last year one of the locals has an estate version (think its only 2800 actually), and i was spectating at adenau bridge in the wet...every lap he had a beautiful powerslide going be thankful it wasn't a lotus carlton (3.2 v6 twin turbo if IIRC)...would have made you think you're in a 1.0l! silverline 0
if it was a lotus carlton i would of just let him past! i wouldnt even bother trying. i know some1 who used to have 1, they were the fastest production car in their day, apparently people who bought them had to go on a special course coz they are so ruthless!yeah it was a GSi 3000 no way i could of lost it not with a stock VR6. what if i had a superchip installed? would that even things up? badboyV6 4
negligible really m8- maybe a remap and shrick would sort him out! ;-) The Lotus carltons are still an awesome bit of kit- i love em- 380BHP 0-60 in 4.8 and 176 mph top whack...... awesome....
silverline 0
Quote: "The performance of these cars is quite literally breathtaking. It has made me almost have to change my pants when from a T-junction (even in the dry) the back end has stepped out and even spun the wheels in second gear! It boasts 204bhp standard and a top speed of almost 150mph!"thats a quote from a car suvrey website on the GSi!no wonder i couldnt lose him!!!

Eat this 2
didnt know they were that heavy and nearly 60mph in first lol it makes the vr seem close ratio lol
silverline 0
lol i agree with that!for a car that weighs nearly 2 tons and with the aerodynamics of a wardrobe 187mph aint bad, plus a sub 6sec 0-60 time as well!!
Eat this 2
30-100 mph is prob the best indicator of outright speed bet its bloody short for that beasty
