Daverse 175
Hi, This has probably been covered before, but I'm too tired to trawl through pages! basically when I save up enough pocket money I'm going to be ordering me some new shiny bigger pistons, and I need to know what compression ratio to choosefor turbo application. they will be 83mm pistons, standard stroke. I can't remember the details of the turbo, I think either GT30 or 35 (The one Paul had? ) the pistons I am looking at are 8.0:1, or i could get 8.5 or 9:1? Is it a matter of how much boost i will be running? Becuase Im really not too sure at the moment! Thanks for any help!Dave
FishWick 21
8.0:1 usually, which becomes 8.5:1 with the 3 layer head gasket.

FishWick 21
I still have my old 8:1 turbo block sat in the garage and a brand new Wossner 8:1 83mm piston. Just thinking to keep your costs down, as this block is already bored to 83mm, you'd just need to buy 5 pistons and then just run a flexhone through the block (no wear lips at all) and build it up :-)
Daverse 175
I was looking at that, but i thought that was a 24v block?
FishWick 21
Nope, tis a 12V block. The other 5 pistons have pitted crowns, but are otherwise fine.
