acf8181 0
finally got the last of the rounded nuts off and removed my vr6's head, but then didn't realise the chain runner stuck out the bottom of the head and snapped it as i put the head down on a bench! cheapest place to get them from? oh, and i forgot to undo the dipstick tube from the inlet, and its come out the block..looks like it just pushes back in. can anyone confirm this? also, realised i don't need a new hose, as the old one split right near the end, so i can just cut it down and put it back on right? jcorallo 0
Sounds like you were rushing mate! The runner unbolts from the head, as I'm sure you've discovered! I think GSF/ECP can get them - not expensive though IIRC... Also make sure you re-time your engine with it in place....Dipstick?! yes - it just pushes back in.Which hose do you mean? I guess same rules apply to any hose - just take account of engine rock etc.Jules

acf8181 0
heads back on now...jst have the prob that i've forgotten which wire goes to which socket on top of the oil filter housing.there's a green one, a yellow one, and a blue one...think the green goes to the top socket (when lookin down at the top of the housing). jcorallo 0
Yep - on mine, the tops of the actual senders on the housing are blue, and one is yellow - so it was easy to match them all up.You might just need to clean up the plastic around the sensor to see it.Jules
