rsweeney 40 Posted June 4, 2012 Report Share Posted June 4, 2012 my golf vr6 1996 has had new ht leads recently and is ok at idle and above 2000rpmIt misses badly between 1000rpm and 2000rpmthe engine had sat for a year undercover before i put it into my golf so maybe the coilpack ? or plugs ? any help much appreciated on this one ! Tabx80 0 Posted June 5, 2012 Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 I had this issue with a vr. I took the coil pack off and did a DIY repair using super steel. Basically dried the unit out then filled any cracks in the casing as it seems to be a common issue. Let it dry then put it back on. This was a temp repair just to see if it was the coil pack. It cured the fault so proved the coil pack was the issue. Wouldn't like to say how long it would last for though. Link to post Share on other sites
