Timah89 1
Any one tried these things? loads on eBay (sorry cant link). do they really amke camber adjustments that much easier?
EnthusiastOwned 7
Easier? Not really. More adjustment. Yes.It's like an eccentric bolt which you insert into the top fixing bolt on the suspension/hub. You can rotate the bolt so that the turret is pushed in and out, then when the desired camber is found you just hold the bolt in its position and tighten the nut.I only used them as my camber was maxed out st like -1.5degrees with no more movement so I needed more play to lessen the camber. If you can get the desired camber with the normal bolts buying these are a waste of time.iirc VW supply OE bolts with a thinner shaft to gain further adjustment in the turrets which aren't as fancy but do the same thing. Timah89 1
sorted then i will stick with the original ones and get it sorted at the weekend then. only want around -1.5 so should be fine. From the adverts they made the Eibach ones sound like a million times easier to set. nothing beats trial and error though hey!
VIW28 29
I've run them the past three years, albeit not that many miles. Good job but as said above, dont make it any easier to adjust but give you up to -4 degrees ** EDIT.... mine are actually H&R which give you up to -4 degrees, Eibach I think give you -3? Timah89 1
i'll stick to the standards i think, they dont seem to much of a problem, just neeed to clear the old mans Lotus out the garage so i've got a nice flat surface to check them on. What sort of camber you all running? i was only looking at -1.5 to just sort the handling out a bit, dont want any more than that due to excessive tyre wear although i do only drive it about 4 times a month for a short distance/thrash. would -2 be too much in that situation? You'll get good turn in but poor tram-lining and advanced tyre wear.I believe, but don't quote me that factory Mk3 settings are -0.3 -/+ .20I'd say -1.0 -/+ .20 would be more suitable. It'll liven the front end up more but negate any tram-lining and inner wear. -1.5 would work but I think the negatives would start to outweigh the positives especially in the current state of our roads. Timah89 1
i'll try -1.5 as think that is what i setup before, might have been a bit more but that was a bit too much. i can always change again further down the line if it is causing problems.thanks for all the help
