Miss-Vw 2
Hi all, Looking to sell the VR in the near future so I can save up and buy myself a restored beetle that Ive wanted for ages!! But there's a couple of small issues I want to get sorted before I put the old girl up for sale.First thing - I had a new heater matrix fitted not long ago and ever since Ive been getting a a constant warm air feed through the heater, even with the dial turned to cold. I really, REALLY dont want to have to have the dash off again - is it a simple case of pulling the heater control cluster out and seeing if something is stuck??Secondly - My speedometer is sticking, it used to be intermittent but it seems to be getting worse, and Im pretty sure I got flashed by a damn camera the other week because of it!! :S It literally just jumps up by every 10mph, is it something computer based or does it need a new cable?? I have no idea. Thanks!
Lukey. 381
For the heater a bowden cable operates with the hot/cold knob, I haven't had my dash out but am assuming it operates a flap for hot or cold, it may be as simple as this cable isn't properly connected
oldmandon 1
That's correct, the cable can be got at from under the dash on the drivers side, BUT it's a pain in the a**e. Can be quite fiddly.

oldmandon 1
If you like the grunt of the VR and the comfort, you'll be disappointed with a beetle. Ask Nat Cooper, I think she has a beetle as a project with someone else, so she should be able to tell you what they're like!!
