vw28bl 0
Got a problem with my 96 vr , vcds says fault on maf but i have tried a different one and it made no difference, the symptoms are the engine nearly dies as the idle speed goes so low after cold start, as the temp increases then idle speed returns to near normal but still a bit low, then i get random times when rpm fluctuates between 2500 and 800 if coming up to junctions etc when not under any load.On the vcds readout there is a fault code for a solenoid valve which on most of list of codes i have found says that it relates to auto gearbox which i dont have. Before i started the engine i ran vag com and it said coolant temp was 27 degrees which could indicate faulty temp sensor, but would that in turn give the erratic running?here is the vcds log if any one can shed any light on it!Saturday,31,December,2011,14:38:55:36351VCDS Version: Release 11.11.1 (x64)Data version: 20111209---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 01: Engine Labels: 021-906-256.lblControl Module Part Number: 021 906 256 Component and/or Version: MOTRONIC M3.8.1 HS V02 Software Coding: 00000 Work Shop Code: WSC 01111 VCID: CFA70AEF0DC68C13 Faults Found:00553 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) 31-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent00268 - Solenoid Valve 6 (N93) 28-00 - Short to Plus00553 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) 28-10 - Short to Plus - IntermittentReadiness: N/A----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Address 01: DTCs cleared---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 1H0-907-044-A.lblControl Module Part Number: 1H0 907 044 A Component and/or Version: CLIMATRONIC V 21 Software Coding: Work Shop Code: VCID: 2241135BAED4D192 Faults Found:00796 - Fan for Interior Temp Sensor (V42) 35-00 - - 01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) 35-00 - -
legvw 0
Yes a faulty temp sensor would throw alot o things out, and make it run oddly.
vw28bl 0
i fitted a new one a few months ago (not genuine vw) so i think i'll try a proper one this time!
varr6pete 0
I have similar problems, did you resolve your issues?
vw28bl 0
Fitted a genuine VW temp sender and sealed an air leak on the intake ducting where the engine breather pipe joins the main duct, seems to have been ok since. Just discovered that electric secondary water pump hasn't been working so i have that to sort out now!!
Lukey. 381
Mine didn't work for like 2.5 years nothing bad happened.
vw28bl 0
Probably same with mine, only noticed it because I got a leak from the bottom part of the pump so took it of and found it didn't even turn when connected to a 12v supply.
