Andi 0
After reading many posts on Vortex forums etc about supercharged Vr6s, a/f ratio is very important and key to good power. I'm looking to get a Wideband controler to keep my eye on things but am slightly confused.I like the price and look of the AEM one. Does it replace the current exhaust sensor ? Does it also 'control' anything by means of the ecu or is it just a a/f meter ?CheersAndi
VIW28 29
The AEM one you refer to is only a guage, ie; it will give you a reading as to what your AFR's are. This is what AEM refer to as it being a controller, even though it doesn't control anything lol. 12v VR's only have narrowband capability within the ecu whereas later mk4 stuff running me7 management has wideband built in as standard within the software and utilises 4 lambda sensors as opposed to one on a 12v. russj249 2
It doesn't control anything on the car, unless you have aftermarket ecu's, then they can send out feeds to that. Mostly just for monitering. As for the holes, you would need to keep your standard o2 sensor to feed the ecu, and another bung welded in for the wideband.I have heard good things about thr AEM controllers, I have an innovate lc-1 with an analogue gauge (matches my boost gauge) and find it very good, can also get both with a digital readout if you want lights and colours! lol

michael5556 247
I just bought the new innovate one and it's excellent. Extremely quick and fully digital. Plus the ability too add a data logger or attach it to an aftermarket ecu.
