need more power !!!!!

hi guys recently purchased my vr6 it is my first vw and am very happy with it its a 1997 four door in black not sure if its obd 1 or 2 any way it has performance filter and back box i think ...not full system i just want to know is mine a obd 1 or 2 and is it true the early vr6s are 174 bhp and later ones 185 bhp so what would mine be and my main answer is i want 200bhp is it possible to acheive this with a re-map i see theres a bloke on here in colchester essex who does re maps (jim potter) as im in chelmsford its not far and has anyone used him for a re map and was it money well spent ..........thanks for your time to read this look foward to your replys.....kerry

your best pm is to pm Jim directly mate, the maps he does are United Motorsports ones which are very good as for chasing numbers well 200bhp is acheivable with exhaust 6 branch cams filter map etc but the main benefit of a map is the driveability and power delivery is much better :)

but yeah he is a good bloke :)

Yeh your car is obd2 , the map will be future proof , so u can add stuff and it will adapt to a point . All of the obd2 cars map.well , not a massive gain in bhp, but trq and driveability are massively improved , we also managed 42 mpg on a recent trip.to.Stafford.and.back . If u give is a ring ee can talk through options , number is in my Sig .
