oldmandon 1 Posted September 17, 2011 Report Share Posted September 17, 2011 When I was a VWAction, Mr Potter and myself were avin a natter (whilst we were looking in my engine bay), about the induction kit and all the hot air in the engine bay. Anyways, Mr Potter says why don't you butcher an old air filter housing top, shouldn't be too difficult.......He's right................... it wasn't...........Whilst not perfect, It's a fairly tight fit, and I even cut a hole for the extra cold feed, and yes it clips in....... only issue is it's made the induction roar disappear, but it'll do for now!!!!!!!!!!!! jims13 6 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Share Posted September 19, 2011 oh yes , im the master of cheap fixes... this will deffo do you favours during the summer .for the autumn / winter months wipp it off.have you drilled the bottom of the box ... like swiss cheese? these will give you te noise back.. but at the risk of a bit of heat getting in. Rustyman 0 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Share Posted September 19, 2011 i was going to make up a heat deflector from aluminium from B&Q and coat it in ceramic paint to deflect heat ... so it shields the big RAM air filter from heat soak... if i get my act together i can make a pattern for others to make one up Link to post Share on other sites
