candleman 0
Hello folks, I've been looking at coilover kits and have noticed that some say the ride is too harsh, could you getaway with a decent kit and just lower the car? this works out cheaper, but how much to lower the thing? I may end up getting 7 x 17 with 205/40 nothing bigger, at the mo I've got standard solitudes I was thinkinh 30mm but am unsure, any ideas on these points,Cheers DaveMulberry highline
MrBen 0
Coilovers are the ultimate in that you have full height adjustablity and on decent kits, adjustable damping too, but you really don't have to have them if you don't want to!! The harshness really depends on what kit you fit.I'm running Eibach springs, Koni T/A Gas shocks, and Eibach Anti roll bars - it's about 35mm down on standard. The handling is fantastic and the ride isn't bad at all. Personally, I'd like a bit lower, but it depends how usable you want the car to be, especially if you have speed humps and crap roads where you live!
binliner 0
It all depends what u want... my car came with koni shocks and eibach -35mm springs... the ride and handling is pretty good but it's not low enough imo so I'll be putting coilovers on The FK koni coilovers I had on my highline weren't harsh (easily as comfortable as koni/eibach) but I could go a lot lower
six appeal 53
As Binliner said really, I had the Koni/Eibach combo, but prefer the flexibiltiy of my FK Konigsport coilovers and to be honest it drives and rides a lot better on them dispite being lower!
