It was going so well?!

Recommended Posts

My vr has been running well since i had it on the road, about month ago, then after work I come to start it and it doesn't!

I took the fuel pipe off and there doesn't seem to be any fuel coming in, the engine fired with a quick spray of easy start, pointing to lack of fuel. The car has done bout 55,000 miles and showed no sign of dieing on me. When the ignition is on these a wherrring sound before starting from the engine bay, presumably a fuel pump? Tried to listen to the rear pump which seems to be silent. I've checked the fuses.

I don't have the fob or key for the alarm which is an original item for a '96 vr, and was wondering if it could be this that because of the way that it stopped working when the car was not running? could it of cut something off to do with the fuel or do they just work with the ignition system?

If any of you guys and gals can shed some light it'd be much appreciated as the car is still at work! :(

the thing whering under the bonnet is the additional water pump, you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime as you turn the ig on, but it can be quite quiet....its under the boot floor.

there are ways of bypassing the relays to test them...if i had my bentley with me right now i'd tell you exactly what to do.
