Just took my drivers side back wheel off to give it a good clean, but while placing the jack underneath i noticed a small amount of liquid on a canister type thing under the car. Which i then found out it was petrol.

Does anyone no what the canister is my fuel lines go into it and out.

The filter has prob gone rusty due to lack of changing it, how ever i will say its plastic pipes which then goes into rubber pipe then that joins the fuel filter, these little rubber hoses that join on the filter are brittle due to age so take great care trying to get them off, just try turn the pipe whislt trying to pull it off, close your eyes to else ull get a face full of petrol lol

Seconded, its the same sort of layout as the mk2 gti and I had an absolute nightmare changing mine, I ended up replacing most of the pipework and components under there because they were all so fragile.
