euroduber 0 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 hi people, im sorry if this has been posted before but it hasnt that i can see, now im trying to remove my auto box from the engine on a mk3 golf vr6 but i cant find the torque converter bolts, they are not visible in the starter motor hole and i dont wanna risk just taking the box off and damaging the splines so please! can someone help me? many thanks in advancestu. rsweeney 40 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 you cant access the three bolts from the starter motor hole. basically theres a plate that the torque convertor attaches to, the three bolts that hold it to the plate are on the engine side of this plate. turn the engine over using a 27mm socket on the camshaft to reveal all three bolts.
