  1. sweet cheers mate but is it supposed to come on straight away even if i havnt even started the engine?
  2. its gone pretty well! it fires up and everything but the only problem (other than a small radiator leak which will be fixed with k-seal hopefully) is that the pump that hangs off the wiring loom bracket on the right of the engine doesnt shut off when you turn the engine off, even when you take the key out and shut the door. i typed the part number in on google and its a water pump of some sort but im not sure. im asuming that ive connected it up right because its just one 2 pin block on the top but could it be the connections inside that arnt working? cheers for your help people oh and its a g
  3. hi guys, im in the middle of replacing the engine in my auto golf vr6, when i took the engine and box out, the engine turned over nicely to be able to get the bolts out for the torque converter, but now i have mated the old box with the new engine, it wont turn over. the engine turned over before it was mated with the box and im pretty sure i have done nothing wrong. why will it not turn over? ive tried it in all the gear positions (if it is actually changing gear by me turning the plate on the top of the 'box) is there anthing i need to do to get it to work or do i just risk it and put it bac
  4. hi people, im sorry if this has been posted before but it hasnt that i can see, now im trying to remove my auto box from the engine on a mk3 golf vr6 but i cant find the torque converter bolts, they are not visible in the starter motor hole and i dont wanna risk just taking the box off and damaging the splines so please! can someone help me? many thanks in advance stu.

  6. hey people, this is my first time on this forum as i have only just a few months ago bought my first vr6 i bought it knowing that it had a problem in the engine and suspected it to be the head gasket, after many fun hours of stripping it down to replace the gasket, i found the head had a lovely 'phat' crack in it. its and auto M reg at the moment but im going to buy a new engine for it from ebay or something but thought, while im at it, i may as well convert it to manual. now i know that im obviously going to have to salvage a manual box for it and clutch assembly and pedals but is there any
